Executive Summary

For eight years Ray Higdon was network marketing’s one credibly neutral trainer: he sold his own MLM downline in February 2016 and, from that point on, took no company’s commission — instead running Rank Makers, a $27/mo daily-live training community for distributors scattered across hundreds of competing MLMs CORROBORATED. That changed on April 9, 2025, when he co-launched The Brilliant Movement, a Christian-mentorship MLM built on a Graham Cooke subscription app, with Graham Cooke and Dionne Van Zyl VERIFIED — his own Facebook and LinkedIn posts. The re-skin that followed was surgical: a brand-new YouTube channel, @saleswithrayhigdon, appeared July 1, 2025, and rayhigdon.com and higdongroup.com were rewritten as “#1 Sales Coach” properties carrying zero indexed mentions of Brilliant Movement, BrilliantPlus, or Graham Cooke VERIFIED via site-restricted search. The MLM itself is distributed only through personal Facebook/LinkedIn posts and DM (“DM for a link”) — never through the training funnel.

The dossier’s central compliance finding is a stale disclosure: Higdon’s own live page at rayhigdon.com/network-marketing/ still reads, unedited, “Full Disclosure: I’m no longer actively building a network marketing business… I now serve the profession as a trainer” VERIFIED — page fetched live, August 2026. That sentence has been false every day since April 9, 2025. The launch announcement itself was direct and non-evasive, so this reads more like an unmaintained website than active concealment — but the practical effect on a 2026 prospect is the same either way.

One additional fact belongs in this summary, stated precisely and without insinuation: Brilliant Movement co-founder Dionne Van Zyl was charged by the SEC in February 2020 with directing $23.5 million of fellow church members’ funds into his own failing ventures without disclosure (SEC v. Dionne Van Zyl, N.D. Ga. No. 1:20-cv-00863, litigation release LR-24747), a matter he resolved by settled administrative order (IA-5575) on September 10, 2020. It is a closed, primary-source-documented matter about Higdon’s business partner — not an open action, and not grounds for a caution flag on Higdon himself.

The Edge

The Company-Agnostic Daily Assignment. In network marketing every authority figure a distributor listens to is normally paid by that distributor’s own activity — the upline, the corporate trainer, the leadership team. From February 2016 to April 2025, Higdon was the field’s rare exception: he had sold his downline and took no company’s money, then gave a daily assignment, live, to people spread across hundreds of competing MLMs who had no reason to distrust him and no way to get the same neutrality inside their own company CORROBORATED. Neutrality, daily cadence, a cross-company peer group, and a hard weekly tracker with public celebration are why Rank Makers held at $27/mo and why a coaching ladder could be stacked above it. What a late entrant cannot copy is the neutrality’s provenance — a real seven-figure downline he verifiably walked away from, and nine years of not selling out. The mechanism underneath it, unbundled, is fully replicable: pick a field where every existing authority is conflicted, publicly refuse the conflicting income, ship one small daily assignment at a fixed time, and price it under the threshold of what members are already failing at.

Journey

July 15, 2009 — Joins Numis Network within two weeks of a 2008 real-estate collapse that left him, by his own account, “$1 million in debt” and in personal foreclosure; becomes the company’s #1 income earner [self-reported, rayhigdon.com/mlm-ray-higdon].

Feb 2016 — Sells his Numis/WorldVentures position to his upline — the decision that later created his neutrality edge and, by chance, spared him WorldVentures’ 2020 bankruptcy [self-reported, internally consistent across 10+ years of his own pages].

Aug 24, 2016 — Forever Wealth Club named #754 on the Inc. 5000, a one-time 2016 honor still used in present tense on 2026 sales copy VERIFIED — inc.com.

Late 2017 — Launches Rank Makers with Jessica: daily action step, weekly tracker, closed Facebook group, $27/mo VERIFIED.

2022 — States he “gave his life to Christ”; the brand pivots hard into faith content (Faith Driven Network Marketer, Faith Driven Wealth, Brother Up, Faith Over Fear events).

April 9, 2025 — Launches The Brilliant Movement with Graham Cooke and Dionne Van Zyl — nine years and two months after publicly retiring from network marketing “out of congruency” VERIFIED — Facebook/LinkedIn.

July 2025 – Aug 2026 — Opens @saleswithrayhigdon, rewrites rayhigdon.com and higdongroup.com into MLM-free sales-coach properties, changes his Instagram bio from “Mentor” to “Sales Coach,” and relocates from Naples, FL to the Franklin, TN area. The training brand and the MLM now share no public surface VERIFIED.
