Executive Summary

Graham Stephan publishes 1–3 long-form “financial news explainer” videos a week to a 5.18M-subscriber main channel plus a 1.64M-subscriber twice-weekly interview podcast, monetizing the attention three ways at once — AdSense, a paid sponsor read inserted at 00:00 of nearly every video, and evergreen fintech/credit affiliate links in the description — and funneling the residue into a free weekly Substack newsletter that keeps the audience owned rather than rented VERIFIED — channel metadata and video descriptions retrieved 2026-08-28. The intake framing that his output “reportedly slowed” does not hold up: the main channel (last upload 2026-08-26) and the podcast (last upload 2026-08-27) are both shipping at full cadence into the final week of August 2026. What actually contracted is the low-yield secondary channel, The Graham Stephan Show, down to roughly 1–3 uploads a month from a near-daily 2021–2023 pace — cadence consolidation into the two high-CPM properties, not decline VERIFIED.

Key numbers: four owned/co-owned YouTube channels totaling 8,503,000 subscribers and 4,245,082,669 lifetime views as of 2026-08-28 VERIFIED · newsletter “Over 41,000 subscribers,” weekly, with zero affiliate links in its body VERIFIED · peak disclosed income $5.1M (2020) rising to a $6M run-rate (2021), $3M of it YouTube ad revenue, net worth stated at $15.5M — corroborated in-home by CNBC’s Millennial Money, 2021-09-09 CORROBORATED · nothing disclosed since 2021, and he has stated on camera that he will not disclose his sponsor rates CORROBORATED · named a Promoter Settling Defendant in the FTX MDL (No. 3076, S.D. Fla.), settled for a reported $10,000 and released from all related claims — allegations only, never adjudicated VERIFIED, see below.

On the FTX record, stated precisely. Stephan was named in the creator-defendant complaint of In re FTX Cryptocurrency Exchange Collapse Litigation, MDL No. 3076, Case No. 1:23-md-03076-KMM (S.D. Fla.), filed 2023-03-15, which alleged the promoter group “promoted, assisted in, and/or participated in” the sale of unregistered securities and did not adequately disclose their financial ties under FTC guidance. These were allegations. They were never adjudicated. A motion for preliminary approval of the first settlement tranche, filed 2024-03-27, lists him among the “Promoter Settling Defendants,” whose collective consideration was $1,359,485 VERIFIED — primary filing. PACER-sourced reporting puts his individual share at $10,000 — the second-lowest of the seven creator settlements, roughly 5.5% of the largest ($180,000 from Brian Jung) — with all settling parties released “from all claims related to any of the alleged conduct giving rise to this litigation” CORROBORATED — Cointelegraph, 2024-03-29. There is no finding of liability, no admission of wrongdoing, no judgment, and no SEC, FTC, or CFPB enforcement action against him on the current record. This is not a caution file: it is a fact pattern reported with precision because the eighteen-fold spread between his settlement and the largest one is itself evidence that a clean disclosure record has a measurable dollar value — see The Edge below.

The Edge

The Open Ledger [PARTIALLY REPLICABLE]. The edge is not the frugality persona, which anyone can perform, and it is not the news-explainer format, which a dozen channels run. For four consecutive years Stephan made his own audited P&L the product, on a schedule, with the numbers on screen — “How Much I Make With 1 Million Subscribers” (2,192,725 views), “2 Million” (965,605), “3 Million” (425,211) — and then let CNBC into his house to verify it line-item by line-item, down to a $50 phone bill and a $20 Spotify-and-Prime subscription CORROBORATED — CNBC 2021-09-09. That accumulated act of self-exposure is what converts a credit-card recommendation from an ad into a disclosure, and it is why a SoFi or Kikoff placement from him converts at a rate a reviewer cannot match VERIFIED.

What a late entrant cannot copy: the timing arbitrage of entering YouTube personal finance in December 2016 before the category existed at scale, and the exclusivity of The Index, his application-only mastermind gated at “$10m+” liquid net worth or revenue — a room a newcomer cannot buy their way into. The substitute for the first is specificity, not scale: narrow the ledger to a specific niche and publish real numbers to an audience of 5,000 rather than 5,000,000 — the disclosure mechanic works at any scale. The substitute for the second is a paid mid-tier community at $50–200/month, which is precisely the gap Stephan has left empty between his $497 Real Estate Agent Academy and the $10M-net-worth Index — there is no mid-tier product in his own architecture, the single largest unmonetized gap in the system VERIFIED.

On disclosure specifically, every video carries a standing, unhedged affiliate disclosure unchanged from 2021 through 2026, and the FTX settlement differential is the clearest evidence in the series that disclosure quality is priced: $10,000 for Stephan against $180,000 and $122,000 for other named creators in the same tranche CORROBORATED — Cointelegraph 2024-03-29. Separately, and worth naming precisely because it is a compliance lesson rather than a legal one: Stephan promoted the savings app Yotta while holding a disclosed angel stake, and after the 2024 Synapse Financial Technologies bankruptcy froze customer deposits, the video announcing that equity stake (“I Bought a Bank”) was removed from his channel CORROBORATED — Banking Dive, 2024-11-12. No legal proceeding arises from Yotta; the pattern of promote-hold equity-delete is nonetheless the compliance lesson a replicator should learn from rather than repeat.

Score note. The intake score was revised from 82/Tier 2 to 88/Tier 1 (applied to the frontmatter 2026-08-28 on Rob’s approval): the “credit cards/fintech” framing understates a seven-line revenue mix dominated by AdSense and sponsorships; the “income unknown” framing undersells the dossier’s real value, which is a documented before-and-after of what happens to a creator’s evidence trail once disclosure is no longer needed for growth; and “output reportedly slowed” is imprecise — only the low-yield secondary channel contracted. The one legitimate drag holding the recommendation at 88 rather than 92 is that the hard financials are five years stale. The frontmatter above reflects the applied re-score.

The funnel, front to back

Lead magnet to first dollar to continuity — the ladder as walked, not as advertised.

Lead magnet. Exactly one, and it is a credit-score bribe, which is not an accident given where the money is: "Actionable and high impact ideas that will make you a smarter and wealthier investor. Sign up below and I'll send you my guide to get a perfect credit score right away!" [VERIFIED — grahamstephan.com/newsletter, retrieved 2026-08-28]. A reader who opts in to fix their credit score is, by definition, the highest-intent possible lead for a credit-card referral. The lead magnet and the monetization are the same subject.

The newsletter's role is trust maintenance, not conversion. The 2026-08-17 issue ran 2,130 words, carried thirteen outbound links, and every one of them went to the IRS, NAR, ITEP, CNBC, Bipartisan Policy Center, AdvisorHub or his own subscribe page — not one affiliate link VERIFIED — full link inventory extracted from the Substack post API. He is deliberately under-monetizing the owned list. The Kit-hosted property behaves differently: those issues carry paid sponsor blocks ("In partnership with: 1440 My go-to news. Without motives.") and cross-promotions ("today's sponsor... my friend Ankur Nagpal's newsletter Silly Money") VERIFIED. If both are live, that is a two-list architecture with the Substack held clean and the Kit list rented out.

The card-page conversion event. cardonomics.com/i/graham is the only page in the ecosystem engineered for a commercial action. It is a co-branded white-label instance ("Graham's Top Picks... This is our curation of the top picks currently available") on infrastructure he does not own — the site has a "Creators Login," meaning Cardonomics runs this play for multiple creators. Cards are pre-sorted by the reader's self-identified situation, and clicks route through app.cardonomics.com, so attribution and payout live with the platform. Payout triggers, per the platform's own disclosure, on click, on approval, or on account opening. Critically, this page is no longer linked from current video descriptions — it was in the standard footer through at least 2023-11-29 and has been dropped by 2026-07. Whether that reflects a deal change, a compliance decision, or a shift to a share-of-revenue arrangement is UNKNOWN.

Ascension. Thin and barbelled. Below him: the $497 Teachable course, a 2017-era asset that still converts on evergreen search and whose copy has not been refreshed ("over $22,000,000 in sales in 2017 alone"). Above him: The Index, gated at "$10m+" liquid net worth or revenue, sold entirely on social proof screenshots — "Closed on my first jet this morning. Don't want to tell old friends or family bc it seems not humble but this group seems like the only place to put it" — with a waitlist for the ineligible ("Not eligible yet? Join the waitlist"). There is no mid-tier product: nothing between $497 and a seven-figure-net-worth room. That is the single largest unmonetized gap in the entire architecture.

The other half of this file

Everything above is public behavior you can go and verify yourself. What follows is the replication kit — how Graham talks, what Graham actually runs, and the routine that makes it repeat. You can see its shape here. The instructions are in the full dossier.

🔒 Voice & messaging 3 patterns
  • Register: deadpan self-deprecation wrapped around genuine research
  • Signature phrases, quoted
  • Proof style: first-person arithmetic, shown not asserted
🔒 The tool stack 2 findings
  • USED (his own stack, evidenced)
  • PROMOTED — the promoted list *is* the revenue. Current live partners

Fingerprinted from Graham's own page source, not copied off a recommendations page. Those two lists disagree more often than you would think.

🔒 The SOP 12 line items
Daily × 22–3×/week × 2Weekly × 4Monthly × 3Quarterly × 1
One row, unlocked, so you can see what a line item actually is
CadenceDaily

QuarterlyOperator1 disclosure post/quarter; measure list growth vs baseline

You can see the shape of it. That is deliberate.

Count the rows. 12 moves on a fixed cadence, each one already assigned to a person, a VA or an AI, each one carrying the number it lives or dies by.

That is not advice. That is a schedule with names on it.

The covered column is the instruction - what actually happens in that slot. Voice works the same way: you can read what each pattern is about, not the pattern itself. So does the stack.

Why hold it back? Because that is the product, and pretending otherwise would insult you.

Bottom line - the free half tells you where Graham shows up. The paid half tells you what to say when you get there, what to run it on, and what to do every day so it compounds.

Think about that. Then decide.

Unlock Graham's full playbook

All 18 sections: complete funnel teardown, replication-grade voice and style guide, the tool stack with what is used versus what is promoted, operating budget line items, the handoff-ready daily/weekly/monthly SOP, and the 90-day replication roadmap. What this page can and can't tell you

This dossier documents how Graham makes money and how the operation runs — sourced, dated, and tagged VERIFIED CORROBORATED INFERRED UNKNOWN so you can see the strength of every claim rather than taking ours.

What it deliberately does not do is tell you whether to join anything. The honest questions are the boring ones:

  • Is the income evidence any good? Graham's grade is B- — B+ historically (CNBC's 2021 Millennial Money profile corroborated $5.1M/2020, $6M run-rate/2021, $15.5M net worth, line-item budget), but C currently — no income disclosure since 2021, and he has stated on camera he will not disclose sponsor rates. Blended: B-.. A low grade means weak documentation, not weak earnings.
  • Is the edge transferable to you? The Playbook tab has the channel map and the funnel. Read it and ask what Graham had that you don't — an existing audience is the usual answer, and it is usually the whole answer.
  • Are they still doing it? Check the Latest Feed tab. A quiet channel and a loud pitch are different things.

We take a commission on some links on this site, disclosed where they appear. That is exactly why the grade and the caution flag are not for sale — how we work.
